I believe this one is pretty explanatory.....The things I find in my kids pockets! I washed many toy cars, rocks, lollipop sticks....ect. Can you relate?
It doesn't get any better with age....My husband Adam is Notorious for leaving pens in his pockets. And my dryer has the ink stains to prove it. Goo gone works well, gets most of it out but there is a blue tint all along the drum.
Only time I don't complain is when I get paid to wash the laundry, the crinkled up bills are always welcome! I even rejoice when I find change! ( I collected a ton of money this way)
Mud, crayons, sea shells, sand, random leaves, and army men are just the tip of the iceberg. They all end up washed and dried, some make it out alive, while others face the melting doom. I always run to the laundry room when I hear the clatter banging and start to search for the culprit. most of the time I can locate the noisemaker.
I should just make a basket where I collect these random items and make an art piece out of them.
I have recently heard a story from a close friend where she decided to do the laundry after a trip they took. This exact story is my worst fear. Expensive toys that get washed and possibly dried!
She started her wash and then moves the load along to the dryer and hears the dreaded banging.......yes her Son left his IPOD Touch in his pocket and she didn't check them like she usually does.
She calls me in a panic, because I have already faced a similar doom with water and toy electronics. I invested in a "Bheestie Bag" and no it's not a "glorified bag of rice"....it's a MIRACLE product! I of course borrowed the bag to her to see if she can save his IPOD. ( Will update once she opens the bag and see if it works)
I just found out that even after the IPOD endured a FULL wash cycle with SOAP ........
IT WORKS AGAIN!!!!
It's things like this that make me double check the pockets....cause you just never know!!
But Little Boys need to help a Mama out!! Even the Grown Ones for Pete's Sake!

ReplyDeleteMotsenbockers #3 is a great ink remover. I get it in the paint aisle of our Home Depot. Sharpie off the dryer, ink off of shirts, and got red nail polish out of my beige couch. They even have a starter kit if you just want to try it out.
Awesome Lex!! I will have to check that out!! :)
