My Story

My photo
I am a thirty-something mom of 3 very rambunctious boys and now a sweet baby girl. I began my journey 6 years ago when my son Zachary was born and life hasn't stopped since. I may have a little girl, but I am still running around this house after 3 little boys, who never seem to run out of steam!

Eating.....the battle of the fittest.

I have to be proud to say that my kids eat just about everything with a little convincing.
I find that if I make it sound awesome they are interested.
They of course have their favorites, like yogurt and carrots. I try to have them taste everything at least once. I am grateful that they dont have any food allergies, so I dont have to worry much about the many random little things day to day.
My boys eat a very specific way.....first veggies ( Gasp)  LOL then meat......and last potatoes.....Unless I serve noodles.....those always go first.
Every time I make chicken nuggets ( I buy the ones that are shaped like Dinosaurs) Dylan first bites all the heads off.....it's not random either, it's every time. The first time I noticed it I was a bit disturbed. He is a bit aggressive and I did wonder if I should worry.
Zack on the other hand will ask in detail what we are having for every meal and say "Mmmmmmm Mama. (Insert food) is my FAVORITE!"  He loves to eat. He has come a long way from the semi-picky eater when he was a toddler.  If I ever question what's for dinner he will also suggest "Mayyyyybbbeeeee we can go out to a restaurant and eat there, Hmmmmm?"  Oh  he has been spoiled with eating out.
I love to cook, but there are days recently that going out is just much easier. With long days and little energy, and being able to have someone else cook for me, who can argue?
I just recently started giving Masyn more solids and he is enjoying all the varieties I come up with. since he has more teeth he is getting more and more table foods then baby food. and so far only Cranberry sauce failed.
Dylan is more so the fighter, he will eat his Veggies.....but meat is a battle. I have to beg him to at least eat 3 bites. I think he may be my Vegan. He hates meat and will only eat it if i hide it in his other foods. there have been a few times he has even "sniffed or spotted" meat and will take the bite of veggies and clamp his teeth before the meat.... Clever little Monkey!
