My Story

My photo
I am a thirty-something mom of 3 very rambunctious boys and now a sweet baby girl. I began my journey 6 years ago when my son Zachary was born and life hasn't stopped since. I may have a little girl, but I am still running around this house after 3 little boys, who never seem to run out of steam!

Crap! I've been De-throned!

That's right.......
She had to make an entrance into my life somehow. After thinking it wasn't possible to even have a Girl after 3 little boys, my little girl is on the way.
I have spent the last few months trying to come to terms that I will have another baby, let alone a GIRL!

We are excited, the boys are thrilled, and I have been coming to accept the color PINK.

My husband said something last night that really made me laugh, he hasn't really talked much about the fact that Baby Girl is coming, but he is a quiet person. He told me that during lunch he saw a teenage girl walk into the restaurant with a haircut similar to his but more shaved to the skin. He told me if that was our daughter he would've just shaved her whole head.  " finished it off" was his exact statement. Men......

"I have been noticing girls a lot more Barb, and I am just shocked at what they wear and how they behave......." and the words would trail off into a deep thought..... Poor guy. He's is gonna have a lot of sleepless nights ..... hehehe

At least I can reassure myself that with 3 older brothers, she will have a hell of a time dating! I don't know how many brave men who will take on a girlfriend with older brothers...let alone 3 with a Dad....4 men to impress is a lot. :)  that helps me sleep at night.......

What a Mom of 3 Boys says on a Daily Basis:

1. Get your hands outta your pants....you are not Al Bundy.
2. Stop picking your nose, or your brothers!
3. That fork is for eating.....not ( Insert random action here) !
4. The couch is not a trampoline!
5. Your brother is not a punching bag!
6. Stop taking your DS into the bathroom......
7. Stop Splashing....the Tub is not a POOL!
8. Why do you have Rocks in your Pants? And you underwear??
9. Do you really have to shove all those M&M's in your mouth?
10. Peeing on my floor! This house is not your Toilet!

Eating.....the battle of the fittest.

I have to be proud to say that my kids eat just about everything with a little convincing.
I find that if I make it sound awesome they are interested.
They of course have their favorites, like yogurt and carrots. I try to have them taste everything at least once. I am grateful that they dont have any food allergies, so I dont have to worry much about the many random little things day to day.
My boys eat a very specific way.....first veggies ( Gasp)  LOL then meat......and last potatoes.....Unless I serve noodles.....those always go first.
Every time I make chicken nuggets ( I buy the ones that are shaped like Dinosaurs) Dylan first bites all the heads off.....it's not random either, it's every time. The first time I noticed it I was a bit disturbed. He is a bit aggressive and I did wonder if I should worry.
Zack on the other hand will ask in detail what we are having for every meal and say "Mmmmmmm Mama. (Insert food) is my FAVORITE!"  He loves to eat. He has come a long way from the semi-picky eater when he was a toddler.  If I ever question what's for dinner he will also suggest "Mayyyyybbbeeeee we can go out to a restaurant and eat there, Hmmmmm?"  Oh  he has been spoiled with eating out.
I love to cook, but there are days recently that going out is just much easier. With long days and little energy, and being able to have someone else cook for me, who can argue?
I just recently started giving Masyn more solids and he is enjoying all the varieties I come up with. since he has more teeth he is getting more and more table foods then baby food. and so far only Cranberry sauce failed.
Dylan is more so the fighter, he will eat his Veggies.....but meat is a battle. I have to beg him to at least eat 3 bites. I think he may be my Vegan. He hates meat and will only eat it if i hide it in his other foods. there have been a few times he has even "sniffed or spotted" meat and will take the bite of veggies and clamp his teeth before the meat.... Clever little Monkey!

Toy Destruction

I made a promise to myself this year that the toys will be organized. I went to Target during a sale last week and dropped over a hundred bucks for 2 shelves and fabric bins. I then spent the following day building and going through the 7 Ikea bins of random toys and notice the Destruction of their toys.....
Ion Man was missing a leg and head....A few cars had no wheels......I realized then that I was a Toy hoarder and my kids were not taking care of what they have. I sat down on the floor and promised myself that I will never do this again. I showed Zack (5) that if something breaks and cannot be fixed it will be thrown away. I also explained that he needs to take care of his things or we will not buy him anything.
Dylan is having a hard time with the new policy, that you must put something away before a new toy is pulled out, but if I nip this in the bud now, I will see a huge improvement later.

It has been over a week now since I started this project and see the positive in it. the boys are doing better each day and realize that not everything has to be mixed up and they can find their toys much faster!
Feel like I knocked this one outta the ball park!! Wooot!
